With the permission of the Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism and other related authorities, the Danang Sculpture Center has co-operated with the Norwegian Copyright Development Association (Norcode), the Vietnam Fine Arts Associations, the Copyright Office of Vietnam, the Danang Union of Associations of Literature and Arts and the Danang Fine Art Association to organize a National Copyright Conference For Visual Artists in Vietnam. The objectives of the Conference are to evaluate current situations and propose solutions to protect the copyright, to enhance knowledge of Vietnamese fine arts circles and the public about copyright and to exchange experiences with Norway in protection of fine arts copyright.

   The Conference was held on 27-28 March 2009 in Danang city with the participance of approximately 100 representatives from central and local authorities of management and training in field of culture, fine arts and copyright, artists from many regions in Vietnam, fine arts museums, colleges and galleries, lawyers. On Norwegian side, the Maganing Director of the Norwegian Copyright Development Association,  some artists and lawyer from the Norwegian Artists Association also attended the Conference.

   Approximately 20 speeches delivered at the Conference and active discussions between engaged parties brought out some pratical effects and suggested feasible solutions to the protection of fine arts copyright in Vietnam. The Conference aslo started start the cooperation between Vietnam and Norway in this field.
